Showpig Internships
Showpig summer internships are an amazing opportunity to travel, network and expand industry knowledge through involvement in our partnership with the National Pork Board, attending several events and having 1-on-1 training in several different areas here at Showpig.
We dedicate time for the following:
Strategic Marketing - You will have the opportunity to learn more about content creation from how we write blogs, to creating our social media calendars, to our quarterly content planners. You will also get first-hand experience with event coverage, digital marketing, graphic design, and more.
Event Preparation/Execution - You will work with our team to help us plan and execute our attendance at several events over the internship.
Producer Services and Education/National Pork Board - Lastly, you will work with our team and learn about how we utilize partnerships and relationships to expand our reach and continue to grow our business.
2024 Summer Interns
GRACE AHRENS
Grace Ahrens was born and raised on the outskirts of Columbus, Ohio. While growing up in the suburbs, she wasn’t connected to agriculture nor had the opportunity to be heavily involved due to location. However, Grace spent many weekends meeting her uncle and grandfather at various jackpot shows. At the age of 9, Grace's family moved. It was then that she started her career in 4H, which fueled her passion and drive for the Agriculture and Swine Industry. After traveling all around the country for shows, Grace decided she wanted to share her experience and passion with others. In the fall she will be a Sophomore at The Ohio State University and will continue to pursue a degree in Agricultural Communications. Grace says, "I am extremely thankful for the opportunity to work with Showpig.com and can’t wait to start!"
Abigail lillard
Abi Lillard will be entering her senior year at Kansas State University, where she is currently pursuing a major in Agricultural Communications, with minors in Agricultural Sales and Mass Communications. Abi was raised on a diversified farming operation in Abilene, Kansas, where a deep-rooted agricultural lifestyle ignited her enthusiasm for the industry. Her journey in agriculture introduced Abi to her earliest passion, 4-H, which kindled her true love for pigs. Once she started showing, she was hooked. This experience not only deepened Abi's appreciation for agriculture but also shaped her career aspirations. Abi is eager to leverage her background in agriculture and experience in communications to infuse passion and innovation into the marketing strategies at TWG this summer!
Kiley Allen
Kiley Allan grew up on a small, purebred farrow-to-finish and cow/calf operation in northwest Iowa. There she developed a passion for communication and marketing in the livestock industry. This has led her to study Agricultural Communication and Animal Science at Iowa State University. Kiley enjoys spending her free time with friends and family relaxing on the lake, watching sports, listening to music, or hanging around the barn.
